We happened upon this on the way out of SEMA's Center Hall — the world's fastest Volvo, according to Jim Haughey of K-PAX Racing.
The 2009 Volvo S60's inline five-cylinder turbo makes "over 500 hp" running 26 pounds of boost through all four wheels. Weighing just 3,350 pounds including the driver, it sounds like it may be the world's most fun Volvo, too. It hit a top speed of 167 mph on the back stretch of Road Atlanta in a race last season.
The car won three races in the 2009 Speed World Challenge with Randy Pobst and Andy Pilgrim driving. It will race next year in the same series.
