Introduction

These days, automotive handouts from the Government aren't just going to the companies that build the cars. No, if "Cash for Clunkers" legislation makes it through Congress (and it's looking likely), you too could be the recipient of some Government coin towards the purchase of your next car. In an effort to remove inefficient vehicles from the road (or spur auto sales depending on which lobbyist you talk to). Cash for Clunkers legislation rewards those turning in qualifying vehicles with money towards new, more efficient automobiles.

About this guide
This is a guide for identifying your best bets for researching a new, more efficient automobile that qualifies for a voucher, assuming legislation passes. We've put together a list of 20 car brands that are guaranteed to have a variety of qualifying options for you, and we sorted them by percentage of lineup that qualifies for a voucher. That way when you spend time researching brands, you'll have a higher likelihood identifying a car that gets you guaranteed cash for your trade-in.
